For the last few years we've dipped our toes into a handful of open houses while keeping an eye on property listings to help us understand neighborhoods, regions and just what we could be looking for. When we decided to become more serious in our search for our first home, we met Mark from Bay Area Modern Real Estate. As a first time home buyer, my husband and I were new to the entire process. Mark's energy, knowledge and honesty made us instantly comfortable in collaborating during this process and we could not have asked for a better agent. We felt like all of our requests and priorities were heard and addressed with each listing and viewing. When we walked a few listings together, he asked thought provoking questions that helped us narrow down what was right for us. He helped guide us throughout the entire experience of one of our biggest life purchases. Once we submitted an offer, he kept us on track with a detailed timeline of key dates and deadlines listed out by who needed to complete them - a dream to those who are organized and unorganized alike! Mark was always available when we had questions and checked in with us without being overwhelming. We had such a positive experience with Mark and his team, we would definitely work with them again.

We are so fortunate to have worked with Mark with the sale of our mid century home. From our initial conversation, we appreciated the knowledge that he shared and all of the recommendations that he provided as we prepped our home for listing. Once ready, he did an excellent job with marketing the property and generated a high-volume of interest in our home. Selling a home could be a stressful process, and Mark's expertise and guidance allowed us to navigate through this time smoothly. He represented us well and we highly recommend him!

We just sold our loft in Berkeley, with Mark's help, and couldn't be happier with the experience. Mark is consistently professional, courteous, responsive, and eager to help move the process along. We completed our sale after moving out of state and he took care of many details that required someone on site at the property. We're extremely grateful for his help. Mark gave us valuable advice about how to best prep and present the condo, referred a number of helpful vendors along the way. A moment ago I am so happy to recommend Mark! We had an intense bidding process followed by a complicated cross-country purchase and Mark was with us every step of the way. After the sale Mark has continued to guide us through regulatory and tax requirements and has remained available to recommend contractors and service providers as we make necessary repairs and improvements. He is an amazing professional and we truly could not have accomplished this adventure without him - we definitely count him as a friend.

We just purchased a house in Oakland with the help and guidance from Mark. It's not the first time I've gone through this process but it was definitely my best experience. Mark is knowledgeable, responsive, communicative and a complete professional. He's also a very nice trustworthy person which made the experience even better. Mark picked up the phone every time I called, responded to my texts within minutes and even went over to the house the same day I asked him about it to do a virtual tour since I was remote. During the walkthrough he pointed out things to note and offered resources for further inspection. On the day of closing he drove me to Target since I didn't have a car and helped me get some items that I needed. He really does care about making sure you have a positive experience and not just about making the sale. I highly recommend Mark and his team.

I cannot recommend Mark enough! As first time homebuyers in the Bay Area during a confusing market, Mark was amazing to work with. Kind, calm, professional, responsive, efficient, helpful...I could go on and on. He went out of his way to help us feel comfortable during the process, to help us strategize (but never in a pushy way!), and to help us find a great home for our needs. We have heard horror stories from friends about realtor experiences and have no clue what they mean - our experience with Mark was as pleasant and stress-free as it could have been and we will be recommending him to everyone we know for years to come!

Working with Mark was a great experience! His expertise in the Oakland market and ability to hear and respond to our needs allowed my partner and me to easily buy our first home—a house that is perfect for us! He has excellent attention to detail and was always willing to explain every step of the process to us as first-time buyers. Mark worked well not just with us as buyers but also with our mortgage lender and the seller’s agent to make closing super smooth and fast. We just sold our house in El Sobrante with Mark and it was a spectacular experience. He advised us brilliantly on what we needed to do to prepare the house for the best price and connected us with vendors to do the work who were both significantly less expensive and much better than vendors we had found in the past to do similar work. He was perfectly communicative, available to answer questions all the time, to the point where I wondered when he had time to relax and live his own life!! We were going through a stressful time in our lives and working with Mark made the process remarkably easy, and got us the best possible result.
